		<description>Nothing to do with the memoir, but... I&#039;d like to recommend for your kids, once they&#039;re older (11 or 13, maybe), Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick. There&#039;s a line in there, which I know if very true and which few people--as you noted--are inclined to consider: &quot;You can remember anything, whether it happened or not.&quot;

And the whole book starts with, &quot;I never had a brain until Freak came along, and that&#039;s the truth, the whole truth. The unvanquished truth is how Freak would say it, and for a long time it was him who did the talking.&quot; How do you resist that? (The wording might not be exactly correct--my book is on loan to my husband&#039;s boss&#039;s kid.)</description>

		<description>Wow, all so true. We try to be the good mother, the perfect loving mother, but oh so many times do I find myself taking out my frustration with life on my kids. There is nothing better than a slap in the face every now and then to wake us up to our silly self indulgent ways.</description>
